History

Our organization was founded in 2006 in order to meet the Lawrence community’s need for a Spanish-language resource center. We are supported by St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and receive our 501(c)(3) status from this relationship.

Over time, Centro Hispano has become a well-known resource among the Spanish-speaking community — but many other communities in Lawrence have never heard of us! Moving into Centro Hispano’s 2nd decade of service we hope to establish a more recognizable presence in Lawrence by educating the community about the special work that we do. Our goal is to continue to earn the support and recognition of all our unique town’s communities.
